For Children of All Ages

As the Ring Leader, I provide costumes, props, music and directions for tightrope walkers, clowns, a sword swallower, a magician, horseback riders, wildcats and their trainers, a trained monkey and bear and their trainers, a human cannonball and even a dancing spider!

We begin by using a picture book about the story of a circus, to inspire and inform the children. We create a name for our circus (such as The Ping Pang Pong Peabody Circus!) The children are told about the acts available, and are then able to choose what they want to do. They each give their characters a name and decide what country they are from. The children choose what they will wear (if there is a choice), and get into costume. If time allows, they can create their own acts. Each act needs adult assistance and children may need extra help if they have not had circus experiences to draw from.

We begin the circus with a parade and then continue with individual performances, which are 2-5 minutes long. It's great to invite the parents to watch the show and popcorn is also fun to have on hand.

The circus can be customized to fit your event. It takes about 90 minutes to get ready and 30 minutes to perform. There is a 30 minute set up time and also a 30 minute breakdown time. Four or five adults are needed as helpers.
