Moovin and Groovin Concert with Su Eaton
For children ages 2-6
(click here for children ages 7-9)
Kids LOVE rockin' out to their favorite tunes with live music! Su's concert engages even the youngest children with songs, stories, and an irresistible enthusiasm that gets them Moovin' and Groovin'! Su uses a guitar and a hand drum and begins with a simple song that helps children warm-up their bodies and voices. She continues leading them through familiar songs and also teaches some new ones, sometimes changing the words to integrate non-bias, non-competitiveness, and inclusive and multi-cultural ideas.

Most songs involve the children in moving either part of their bodies or their whole body. Sometimes Su integrates recorded music so she can work directly with the children and inspire them to move creatively with scarves, ribbons, and other props. Su also uses finger puppets and flannel board as a fun way to share stories.

Concerts are always participatory and fun-filled, creating an environment that welcomes the magical moments children inevitably create. Su draws out even the shyest child by allowing them their own time and space while reaching out to them in a gentle loving way. Concerts close with a joyful circle.

For children ages 7-9
We'll sing, create dances, do some theatre, and play co-operative games where we all work together and everyone's a winner! Creative movement structures, props, instruments, taped music, singing books, and found objects will be used to inspire creative movement explorations and pieces. Children are encouraged to work/play both together and independently, in a supportive, guided atmosphere. Children's ideas are welcome and encouraged.
